Buckle Wants Ugly Win

Torquay boss Paul Buckle will take any win after six games without collecting all three points, but he is unsure if his young side is capable of 'winning ugly', telling the Herald Express:

"Grinding out games, I've not see us play terribly and win a game, maybe the younger players don't know how to do that. In my experience, the law of averages says it will turn for us. Crewe certainly weren't at their best on Tuesday night and they got a point. They were booed off at half-time, we were in control and they got something out of it. We've got to learn to do that. We've got to learn to just dig in, clear our lines, and do all the nasty side of it.

"If we keep playing the way we're playing, the team is capable of going on a run. We've got to play with an urgency. When there's 10 minutes to go, you have to realise your opponents are going to fight even harder. We have to match that without panic, and dig in right to the last minute. The players' performance levels are key. If they keep performing to the levels they have, they will learn from their mistakes."

Buckle will be without winger Wayne Carlisle due to a knee injury, but will have new signing Lathaniel Rowe-Turner available for the first time. The full back signed a permanent deal from Leicester on deadline day, but Buckle missed out on a cash deal for Crawley's star striker Charlie Ademeno. He ran out of time to get the paperwork in by the 5pm deadline after agreeing a fee and terms with the player.
