Who will do the new OS on-line commentary?

Currently, the only locally based away match commentary for HUFC matches is provided by BBC Hereford and Worcester via their 94.7 FM frequency. The plans for the new Official Site are said to include a commentary available through the internet on a subscription basis.

It is understood that the existing BBC agreement will continue to, at least, the end of the current season and may even have been a two-year deal including the next campaign. Regular listeners will be aware that local football fan, Keith Hall, has manned the microphone for many years providing not just match details but a wealth of additional facts and post-match interviews.

As far as Bulls News has been able to establish, Hall has not been enlisted to do the commentary for the new on-line facility. In fact, it is fully expected that the current BBC service will continue in its existing format until their present agreement expires.

The present BBC agreement is thought to involve a not unsubstantial fee and it would seem mutually beneficial for some sort of “shared” commentary to be agreed whereby the Football Club still received an income from the local radio station. Further advantages could be gained were the new service also able to use their existing and established experience in both the ISDN technology and commentary.

The new Official Website is said to be “live” within a day or so but it’s not entirely clear when the subscription commentaries are due to commence.
