Notts County closed the gap to the automatic promotion spots to two points with a 2-0 win over sliding Barnet, with the Bees now recording just five points from 39 since beating bottom club Darlington in October. Shrewsbury retain a play-off spot despite losing 1-0 at home to Accrington, who are three points shy of the top seven themselves. That gap remains after Chesterfield beat Morecambe 1-0 to retain seventh.
Down the bottom Darlington's match with Cheltenham, and Lincoln's home game with Dagenham were both postponed. Grimsby earned a valuable point with a 1-1 draw at Aldershot, and they close the gap to the Bulls to six points having played two games more. Bradford won 2-1 at Torquay to halt their desperate slide and retain 16th place, while Northampton and Burton drew 1-1 in the other game today.
In the Conference Luton had a spanner thrown in their play-off plans with a 3-2 home loss to Ebbsfleet. Mansfield beat Forest Green 4-1, with most of the main promotion candidates in FA Trophy action.
