We're delighted with the result - Lowe

Hereford United defended Keith Lowe said he was delighted with this afternoon's 1-0 victory over Chesterfield.

"To go 1-0 up, we thought we deserved it first half. And we dug in deep at the end and got the result," Lowe told BBC Hereford and Worcester.

"Gaffer said at the start of the game to keep a clean sheet and you'll win the game. We've got enough talent in our attacking squad to score goals."

Chesterfield's top scorer Jack Lester was subbed during the second half.

"We always see that as a credit to us if a striker get him dragged off.

"We thought we outplayed them first half, especially the first 25 minutes but a goal didn't come and you have to keep your heads and eventually it paid dividends."

Lowe spoke about the penalty that won the game for the Bulls.

"I think it was an obviously a penalty. The lad jumped and Marshall got there before him. It's definitely a penalty.

"They're a bit unhappy but they are going to be as they lost."
