News Round Up

Ex-Bull Richard Jackson has signed a short term deal at Darlington. He is one of four new signings this week for the bottom club with Wolves' teenage midfielder David Davis and French trialist Mo Diop joining Aston Villa striker James Collins at the club. Torquay have failed in a bid to lure former loan striker, and ex-Bulls trialist, Chris Zebroski back to Plainmoor. He is out of contention at Wycombe after their poor start to the season but has decided to stay there to fight for his place.

Burton midfielder Jimmy Phillips will miss a month of the season with a knee injury. The club had originally feared it would require surgery that would rule him out for most of the season. Notts County have allegedly been turned down by Roberto Mancini for their manager's job, with the favourite claimed to be former Sven Goran Ericsson assistant Hans Backe.

Chester owner Stephen Vaughan says the Football League and Conference owe his club more than they owe footballing creditors. Payments from the two bodies have been suspended while the club fail to settle bills leaving the club - Vaughan says - unable to settle it's creditors. In a press interview the forthright Vaughan challenged the authorities to enforce their deadline.

Ebbsfleet's owners and board are discussing selling the club as the MyFootballClub model is failing. They predict a £130,000 loss for the current season even after slashing their wage bill by 60% in the summer, and will run out of money before the end of the season. The 30,000 membership of the MyFC site has dropped to under 10,000. Crewe have offered keeper Bertrand Bossu a contract until the start of January despite him conceding five goals in his trial match against Birmingham reserves.

Northampton have signed former Swindon central defender Pat Kanyuka on a three month contract. The 22 year old 6ft4in man has played 38 senior games for the Robins and QPR. Port Vale have cancelled the contract of young midfielder Luke Chapman by mutual consent despite having a threadbare squad due to a virus outbreak.

Dagenham have loaned left back Scott Griffiths to Peterboro until January ahead of a permanent move. He follows Grimsby's right back Ryan Bennett to London Road on similar terms.
