Jony Godsmark hit the headlines last night with his match winning goal for Hereford United in the Carling Cup, but the Newcastle Chronicle suggests he is unlikely to win a contract at his home club Newcastle.
"It was a great feeling to score the winner," said Godsmark.
"I have come down here to show what I can do.
"Playing in the Carling Cup is a fantastic experience. Long may it continue."
The paper says that Godsmark 'was thrown a chance by ex-Toon player John Trewick'.
It also says that Godsmark is hoping the draw will give the Bulls a plum tie against the Magpies.
