Ashikodi Trials At Pompey

Ex-Bulls striker Moses Ashikodi has turned up at Premier League side Portsmouth on trial.

The volatile forward played in last night's friendly with Gosport with coach Guy Wittingham telling the press: "We had a phone call on Monday to bring him down and have a look at him. Obviously all decisions like what happens next are totally down to the manager."

Ashikodi scored from the spot after winning a penalty for a youthful Pompey side as they beat Zamaretto side Gosport 3-0. He is the second player from the lower leagues to trial with the financially stricken side, with ex-Crewe man Eugene Bopp turning out for them last week.
