Matt Murray Comeback Delay

Former Bulls loanee 'keeper Matt Murray has suffered a set back in his recovery from knee surgery.

The Wolves stopper ruptured his patella tendon while playing for Hereford in November. Recent discomfort resulted in a "clean up" operation to repair an area of tendon that was healing slower than expected.

The Wolves Official Site is reporting that Steve Kemp of their medical services department has said "although this is obviously a setback for Matt, the surgeon and our medical team are pleased with how the surgery went and are all confident he will make a full recovery."

"Matt is no stranger to these sort of setbacks in his rehabilitation with previous injuries, but he has never let such things hold him back."

"I have no doubt he will again remain positive and show the high levels of professionalism and strength of character he is renowned for to continue his recovery."

It is understood that Murray is expected to return to his rehabilitation programme in the next couple of weeks but no timetable has been put on his return to competitive action.
