There is no news about players contracts in this morning's Hereford Times.
"From the information that we have, more than 800 players will be out of contract at the end of this season," said chairman Graham Turner.
"It would be nice to get some settled early on but it may also be a case of keeping your powder dry.
"We have already discussed the situation as far as our current players are concerned; they will be informed during the course of the week."
Turner also said there was no progress on a new coach.
"John has not yet decided on the line he wishes to follow."
