Abbot to talk to Gowling

Carlisle manager Greg Abbot is set to have discussions with defender Josh Gowling who has been on loan at Edgar Street for much of the second half of last season.

Gowling has a year left on his contract but according to the News and Star is expected to leave during the summer.

Carlisle have plenty of cental defenders and Gowling is deemed as surplus to requirements.

"We had too many players who haven’t contributed enough, a few who have underachieved, and some bad luck along the way," said Abbot
