We try to live within our means - Turner

Hereford United manager Graham Turner has taken another swipe at clubs who appear to benefit after getting into financial difficulties.

"It galls me sometimes when you see clubs in financial difficulties keeping the squads of players, getting loans from the PFA, all those sorts of things to keep them in business and yet they are not living within their means," Turner told BBC Hereford and Worcester.

"We try to live within our means and, to some extent, it has its disadvantages.

"We haven't paid money out for players, both wages and transfer fees, we could not afford yet I see some clubs trading fairly recklessly but still managing to continue.

"That galls me a little bit at times.

"There are a few big clubs in trouble. We've been warned there are a number of clubs on the brink of administration.

"I think the Football League are trying to bring in measures. It is up to the club chairmen to vote it in.

"There has got to be some sort of restriction in wage levels - I think in accordance with turnover.

"We've lived within our means, we've traded properly.

"It galls me a little bit to see some clubs spending recklessly and getting away with it."
