Preview: Bulls vs Leicester

The Bulls entertain Leicester in a League match for the first time on Saturday.

All previous visits by the Foxes have come in cup competition, with the most notable being the 1999 replayed match that heralded the arrival of Paul Parry. The Bulls lost 2-1 at Filbert Street after extra time following a goalless draw between the Conference and Premier League sides at Edgar Street. More recently the Bulls lost 2-1 at the Walkers Stadium with Karl Broadhurst scoring his only goal in a Bulls shirt.

The Bulls will require something major to extract themselves from the mire, beginning with beating the league leaders. Much finger pointing has been done in the aftermath of the Brighton game, some of it by Broadhurst. His blast at his side's lack of endeavour and character echoed many of the fans comments, with several branding the first half as being the worst performance of the season. One thing is certain, getting a shot on target before second half injury time is a must.

Leicester's poor recent form means they cannot secure promotion at Edgar Street as previously envisaged, winning just two of their last eight games to turn the march towards the League One title into a drunken lurch. 29 goal striker Matty Fryatt broke a four match blank streak with a goal at home to Carlisle, and he is likely to be assisted up front by £1.5million man Steve Howard.

Hereford United vs Leicester City, Edgar Street, Saturday 11th April, 3.00pm.
