Clive Oliver to referee at Hartlepool


Clive Oliver is set to referee next Saturday's League One match between Hartlepool and Hereford United.

44 year old Oliver from Northumberland is the senior partner of the first father and son, Michael, to serve together on the National List of Referees, Clive started refereeing in 1992 and soon made his way through local football and the Northern League to reach the National List of assistant referees in 1998. Six years later he was promoted to the National List of referees.

The last time Oliver refereed a Hereford match was at Chester in October 2007 which ended in a 1-1 draw.

Earlier that year Oliver sent off Andy Ferrell for handling in the area at Macclesfield in a game the Bulls lost 3-0.

To date this season Oliver has been in charge of 28 games in which he has given out 69 yellow cards and 6 red cards.
