Powis gets his Chance of a Lifetime

The son of one of the contributers to Bulls News has been awarded a Race Star Scholarship for 2009.

Hereford based Joey Powis, son of Chris Powis better known on this medium as Ex-Landlord, will compete in the 2009 Mini Challenge.

"It's a scholarship that is open to people who haven't competed at all," he told BBC Hereford and Worcester.

"It's aimed at allowing a young driver who otherwise couldn't afford it to be able to get into a race car."

"They basically fund a full year in the Mini Challenge so you don't have to pay for a thing, so it's fantastic," he added.

Father Chris will have a couple of hectic weeks ahead trying to fit in watching his son in action and following Hereford United.
