In addition to the four directors just fifteen shareholders, the lowest number for some years, were at this evening's Hereford United Annual General Meeting which was held at the Three Counties Hotel.
As usual Graham Turner chaired the meeting. However, in a change of practice from previous years, he would only allow the shareholders present to ask questions about the accounts for the period ended May 31st 2008.
Any other questions were met with the response that they were outside the scope of the meeting.
One particular shareholder asked why the shareholding of each director was not published with the accounts. The chairman replied that it was no longer a requirement.
Another asked about the current financial position of the club. The chairman wouldn't comment.
The directors reports and the accounts were approved by a show of hands.
Two directors, Mrs Joan Fennessy and Mr Grenville Smith, were re-elected and the auditors, Baker Tilly, were re-appointed.
After the meeting it emerged that it might have been better to have held the AGM on a different night. The chairman looked tired, not surprising after a long trip to Carlisle for Tuesday evening's game and the loan deadline which ended at 5pm this evening, and appeared to want the meeting over and done with as quickly as possible.
