Love wasn't in the air at Whaddon Road as Cheltenham literally battered the Bulls in today's League One match but, like other teams beginning with 'C' the result was a foregone conclusion.
After Febian Brandy was gifted an opener, Lloyd Owusu forced the ball into the net twice only for Sam Hewson to drive the ball home from a free kick to level the scores. When Hewson repeated the trick, thanks to a deflection, it sent the travelling 1,295 Bulls into a frenzy grateful for the 3-2 victory.
By the start of the second half the Bulls had lost both starting centre halves and sub Karl Broadhurst to injury as the Cheltenham front line kicked and elbowed their way through the defensive line, leaving Toumani Diagouraga to take up defending duties.
With the first of ten games in 35 days ending without a recognised centre-half, and no more in reserve, another dip into the loan or free agent market may be required - unless a certain sixty year old centre half fancies another job at the club.
