Preview: Bulls vs Leeds

The Bulls entertain pre-season title favourites Leeds United in a rearranged League One clash on Tuesday.

The two sides had never met competitively until last season when the FA Cup paired the two 'Whites' together. After a goalless draw at Edgar Street, the Bulls won the replay with a solitary Lionel Ainsworth goal. Earlier this season Leeds scored their first ever goal against the Bulls, after 252 minutes, to secure a 1-0 win in the League.

The Bulls will need another signing to bolster a threadbare back line with neither Dean Beckwith (concussion) nor Josh Gowling (ankle) likely to be ready for Tuesday although the early prognosis on Karl Broadhurst is more encouraging. Richard Jackson will probably step up to benchwarming duties after missing out entirely after the Stockport debacle. Sam Hewson's brace on Saturday makes him joint second top scorer after just three games with the club.

Leeds struggle without Jermaine Beckford. That's the analysis of one Leeds fansite whose research shows they've managed just two wins and six goals in ten matches without him, averaging 0.7 points per game compared to two points a game when he's in the team. With Beckford suspended nine goal second top scorer Luciano Becchio is likely to lead the line with Lee Trundle, who has one goal from seven matches, already a scorer at Edgar Street in pre-season for Bristol City.
