Even their local press are believing Chester will fall into Administration any day now, with the club still under a transfer embargo. Saturday's side that lost 3-0 to Brentford featured three players who weren't fit and a bench full of 16 year old youth teamers. The club have just 15 professionals left, with four of them injured or suspended for the match, after six players were offloaded before the transfer window closed.
Carlisle have signed Blackburn defender Tony Kane on loan until the end of the season. The 21 year old has previous experience with two loans at Stockport. Yeovil's shirt sponsor, a building supplier, will end their sponsorship at the end of the season. The Glovers failed in a move for Cheltenham striker Paul Connor during the transfer window due to budgetary constraints.
Leeds striker Jermaine Beckford is being investigated over his elbow on Millwall keeper David Forde during last night's game. The FA had said they would not take action as ref Alan Wiley booked the player, but Wiley's report suggests the booking wasn't for the elbow but an earlier tussle. Twelve Leeds supporters were arrested last night for public disorder and criminal damage with Police reporting "sporadic disorder" both inside and outside the stadium.
Rushden boss Garry Hill has resigned after last night's 3-0 loss to Burton. The club are nine points short of the play-offs having played up to four games more than some of their rivals, and were considered pre-season favourites. Hill may now return to Weymouth if his brother completes his takeover of the club. Rushden are the twelth Conference side to change their manager this season.
