More Problems for Stockport

A week in football can be a long time. Just last Saturday Stockport County were celebrating a win over Hereford United. On Tuesday they revealed that the takings from the game had been stolen and this afternoon their Managing Director has quit.

Stockport County Managing Director, Mark Maguire, has tendered his resignation and he will leave the post he has held since 2007 with immediate effect.

No reason has been given for his sudden departure. However the club has recently had to sell players to help balance the books.

In other news this evening pitch inspections are expected at several League One grounds tomorrow.

Peterborough, who play Carlisle, are holding an inspection at 11.30am and Bristol Rovers, who play Huddersfield, are holding their inspection at 12noon.

Both Carlisle and Huddersfield were planning to set out for their games tomorrow afternoon.

As reported earlier Hereford United's opponents on Saturday, Brighton and Hove Albion, are aiming to set off for Herefordshire tomorrow afternoon.
