Graham Horwood from Bedfordshire is set to referee Tuesday's game at Edgar Street where Leeds United will be the visitors. He was originally down to officiate the game on January 3rd before it was postponed.
Horwood stared refereeing at fifteen years of age and reached the National list of assistant referees in 2001 after progressing through the South Midlands and Isthmian Leagues. He was promoted to the List of Panel referees in 2005 and the National List of referees in 2007, the year in which he refereed a Conference Play Off Semi-final.
This season he has been in charge of 24 games giving out 58 yellow and 2 red cards.
Hereford United have met Horwood once this season. That was at Southend when the Bulls were defeated 1-0.
Last season he refereed the home game at Rochdale which was drawn 1-1.
He (Horwood) was quite strict on any sort of physical contact. Any sign of holding and tugging warranted a free kick. In general he was consistant but his actions stopped the flow of the game on too many occasions.
At least when he gave Rochdale a penalty he only gave Karl Broadhurst a yellow card.
David Perkins of Rochdale received his marching orders after gaining two yellow cards, the second of which came when he obstructed Trent McClenahan.
Three other Hereford players were booked, McClenahan, Diagouraga and Wayne Brown.
It might be prudent to arrive a little than usual as a crowd of about 6,000 is expected even though Leeds are reported not to have sold all their allocation of tickets.
Finally Season Ticket Holders are reminded that they should use ticket number 12 for this game.
