We're prepared to gamble says Turner

With the Leeds match out of the way for now, Hereford United manager Graham Turner will be able to turn his full attention to the transfer window.

“This season we have to survive, we’ve worked ever so hard to get to this level and we’re prepared to gamble, within reason, to stay here.” he told the Worcester News.

“I think one of the problems with trying to find a striker is the quality that we are looking for, we obviously need something better than what we’ve got — there’s no point bringing someone in just to make up the numbers.

“What we have found is that in our initial enquiries about the quality of players we require we will be facing some significant amount of opposition from other clubs.

“It promises to be a very busy period for the next few weeks. We’ve got our list. We won’t be shopping at Woolworths but we won’t be turning up at Harrods.

“The problem is we want good First Division players but everybody else in our league wants the same.”
