The first fixture of the New Year has traditionally been fairly kind to Hereford United although goal-feasts have been rare.
Back in season 98/99 the Bulls blew the cobwebs off the festive season with an embarrassing home defeat at the hands of visiting Skiddlington Farriers losing 1-3. A creditable 1-1 all draw followed the following season in Carpetland and in 00/01 a deserved 2-0 win over Chester at Edgar Street was welcomed. More recent fixtures show only one further loss.

A draw against Leeds on Saturday would be considered a good result in most circles but the need for three points should ensure an entertaining game.
