News Round Up

Stockport have confirmed the release of midfielder Gareth Owen, who has joined Port Vale. The defender is the second player to leave Edgeley Park in the transfer window, with goalkeeping coach Dave Felgate also departing. Leicester have loaned former Bury midfielder Nicky Adams to Rochdale for a month.

Bournemouth have named caretaker boss Eddie Howe as their manager until the end of the season. The 31 year old played nearly 300 times for the club and has acted as coach and assistant manager after being forced to retire from playing. Leyton Orient won't be advertising their manager's post, but will appoint an experienced man from outside the club.

Huddersfield are claimed to have bid £500,000 for Swindon striker Simon Cox. It would be their fourth six-figure bid in two weeks. The Terriers have received interest in fringe players Jon Worthington and Chris Lucketti. Yeovil have only 15 senior players available for tonight's match with Leicester. They will bulk out the squad with a trio of untested youngsters.

Oldham have signed left back Scott Golbourne from Reading on loan for a month. The 20 year old has limited first team experience with the Royals, but has extensive experience on loan. Peterboro have loaned striker Scott Rendell to - yep you've guessed it - Cambridge. His second spell (or fifth, if you include all the aborted efforts) at the club this season will last until the end of the season.

Ex-Bull Neil Mackenzie has left Notts County by mutual consent. The 32 year old played only four times for the Magpies this season before loan spells at Kidderminster and Port Vale. He is expected to join Burton. York have announced a £413,000 loss for last season, and expect a similar loss this season as gates fall.
