Northwich were locked out of their own ground due to unpaid rent - of just two weeks. They switched yesterday's match to Altrincham to avoid the threat of being thrown out of the Conference for failing to play the match after ground owner Mike Connett changed the locks over a £2,000 debt and removed vital match day equipment, while also telling the local authorities the ground was unfit. Connett himself faces losing the ground in ten days time with court proceedings pending. All the problems with the Vics didn't stop them signing three more non-contract players on Friday, paying them £150 a week each.
Swindon are claimed to have rejected a £500,000 offer for striker Simon Cox from a Championship side. Port Vale have pocketed £311,536 from their Valiant Saver accounts with the Britannia Building Society. The amount is a percentage of all the money held in the special club accounts. The club will, however, face a court date with ex-boss Lee Sinnott after the club - Sinnott claims - failed to meet a legal deadline over a settlement on his contract.
Leeds have released defender Mansour Assoumani after just one month and one appearance with the club. Brighton have loaned former Aldershot striker Jonny Dixon to Eastleigh after just two starts for the Seagulls in the 12 months since his £55,000 move. Carlisle have offered striker Matt Jansen another chance at the club after he was released by Blackburn. Huddersfield have been rejected by Motherwell striker Chris Porter.
