Wright Back In At Chester

As if they couldn't get their gates any lower, Chester City have re-appointed Mark Wright and former assistant Steve Bleasdale to the Deva Stadium dug-out.

The pair have agreed non-contract terms with the club, while Wright is also discussing investing in the club. The news of the return of Wright has gone down badly on the Devachat forum, with most of the reactions unprintable.

The former England defender has a chequered past at the Deva, winning the club's return to the Football League but then quitting on the eve of their return after having an affair with the wife of one of his players. His second stint in charge ended after a string of turgid performances that saw the fans, and chairman Stephen Vaughan, happy to see the back of him.

Away from the Deva other managerial posts at Oxford and Peterboro have both been ended due to allegations of racial abuse, once to an Asian referee and the other towards an Irish footballer.
