Thoughts on the Dagenham Cup-Tie

In advance of Saturday's FA Cup-tie at Edgar Street a few thoughts on the day.

Firstly Dagenham midfielder Peter Gain:

"The FA Cup is the FA Cup and anyone can beat anyone in the first round," he said.

"They haven't been doing too well in the league this season and I think we're playing quite well at the moment, so we can go there and turn them over.

"They had seven to 10 loans in last year, and they beat us heavily, but we had a bad day and beat them at home a couple of weeks later.

"We showed against Reading this year that we can play against the better sides, so I think it's just all on the day of the game."

Secondly Dagenham assisant manager Terry Harris:

"No matter where we go, we know we will always give a side a game if we are on our mettle.

"You have to take what comes out, but we'll do our homework on them and go there in good heart."

Finally Graham Turner for Hereford United:

"When things are going wrong in the League, the FA Cup can be a marvellous outlet for all our frustrations.

"The game against Dagenham and Redbridge on Saturday will not be easy

"You only have to look at our Cup record last season, and over a long period, and see the number of clubs from a higher division we have knocked out.

"We need to be at our best; we need to have total focus and concentration.

"And we need, as always, with any side in the FA Cup, a slice of luck.

"Saturday is a respite for us all from the pressure of league matches.

"Between supporters and players, we need to make it a good day."

Meanwhile it is uncertain whether Andy Williams will be able to play for the Bulls on Saturday. His parent club, Bristol Rovers, have to make that decision.
