News Round Up

Yeovil's 'final offer' for Luke Rodgers is almost acceptable to Port Vale. Valiants chairman Bill Bratt says their offer equals the £30,000 they paid for Rodgers but Yeovil want a loan 'trial' period before committing to the transfer, which Bratt finds unacceptable. He does confirm that two other League One sides have enquired about Rodgers, but neither have made a firm bid.

Walsall are giving a trial to defender Richie Byrne after his release from Oldham. He played 90 minutes for the Latics against the Bulls in October but has been dogged with injury problems. Peterboro are to loan striker Scott Rendell to former club Cambridge after a disappointing spell at Yeovil.

Leeds have had to take their online away ticket booking system offline due to 'unprecedented demand'. One of the games for which ticketing has been delayed is their trip to Edgar Street. Ex-Bull Alan Connell, yet to make his first team return at Bournemouth, is set to miss another month after fluid was found on his knee.

Stevenage have added sacked Northwich boss Dino Maamria to their coaching staff. Local sides Redditch United and Bromsgrove Rovers are holding merger talks, but Bromsgrove say a deal will only be done if the new club remains there.
