News Round Up

Carlisle are facing legal action from the League Managers' Association over the departure of former boss John Ward. The club claim he left by mutual consent with the LMA, and Ward himself, saying he was sacked and that the club are trying to avoid paying him compensation for his four year contract. Crewe defender Danny Woodards expects to leave the club in January after refusing to sign a new deal.

Salisbury have transfer listed three of their higher earning players in a bid to cut costs. Andy Sandell, Matt Tubbs, and Robbie Matthews are to be sent out on loan after a bid to raise £100,000 to keep the club on an even keel raised less than half the target. Forest Green are running a share issue to raise £160,000 for the club.

Port Vale have revealed that their finances are suffering because fans are withdrawing money from a saving scheme that aids the club. The savings account, with the Britannia Building Society, pays the club about 1% of the total balance each year with the club having received around £2.5million - around £300,000 a season - since the scheme started in 2000. Chester caretaker boss Wayne Allison does not want the job on a permanent basis.

Yeovil have opted not to extend the loan of Peterboro striker Scott Rendell. The former Cambridge hotshot failed to score in six appearances, and was an unused sub for last night's loss at Leicester.
