Millwall Football Club lost £6.1 million pounds last season marginally worse than the previous season when they lost £5.1 million.
Millwall Holdings PLC Ltd report that the poor season especially the start lead to reduced matchday takings. Other extra costs included having to sign players to cover for a higher number than usual injuries.
The manager early in the year, Willie Donachie, was replaced by current manager Kenny Jackett. Costs involved with this change also contributed to the loss.
Whereas many clubs including Hereford United end their year in May, Millwall's year ends in June which coincides with the end of players contracts.
