It's raining in Herefordshire this morning and the forecast suggests that there will be enough of the wet stuff to cause problems on local roads, and possible elsewhere, as the day goes on.
Hopefully the pitch at Edgar Street will withstand the deluge and the game between Hereford United and Swindon Town will go ahead this evening.
One thing for certain, the club will not need to use the new sprinkler system before the game starts, a giant sponge may be more appropiate.
Whether a pitch inspection will be required remains to be seen. Should the club decide to have one, it has to be hoped it is carried out in good time.
UPDATE 11.15am: Currently there is some very heavy rain in many parts of Herefordshire, especially to the west of Hereford, but a clearance to somewhat drier weather has already taken place in much of South West Wales and that clearance appears to moving eastwards.
FURTHER UPDATE: As at 12 noon, Hereford United has said that 'there is no inspection planned ahead of tonight's game'.
UPDATE: 1pm: Part of Merton Meadow Car Park is currently flooded.
