Former Hereford United winger Paul Parry has told John Toschack that he will not play for Wales again.
This from the Western Mail:
CARDIFF CITY winger Paul Parry has sensationally quit international football on the eve of Wales’ crunch World Cup qualifier with Russia.
The 12-times capped forward left the Wales training base after being overlooked for the opening 1-0 World Cup victory over Azerbaijan on Saturday.
Rob Earnshaw was chosen in attack and young strikers Ched Evans and Sam Vokes were thrown on in the second half, while Parry remained on the bench.
It had seemed that Wales boss John Toshack had been due to hand Parry the lone striker role in Moscow on Wednesday but the 28-year-old has now decided not to travel to Russia.
Parry made his Wales debut against Scotland in February but made himself unavailable for international football after the 3-0 victory over San Marino in March 2007, citing personal reasons for his decision.
He returned to the Wales fold against Georgia last month.
Parry rejoined his Bluebirds colleagues at training at the Vale of Glamorgan today as the Welsh camp headed out to Russia.
