Preview: Brentford vs Bulls

The Bulls travel to West London on Saturday looking for three points that could see them promoted by 5pm.

The Bulls have only travelled to Griffin Park once before, with this season being the first time the pair have met in the League. Back in 1990 the pair were drawn together in the Rumbelows Cup when a Bulls side featuring the likes of Darren Peacock and Jon Narbett lost 2-0 to the higher graded opposition. The Bulls have won both encounters at Edgar Street with the return leg a 1-0 victory, and a 2-0 victory back in October with forgotten man Luke Webb scoring twice.

Brentford's dismal start did for their season, highlighted by in-fighting at Edgar Street during their defeat in October. A respectable turn out since Andy Scott took Terry Butcher's job has seen them win 48% of games in charge, the same as Darlington, compared to 21% under Butcher. 14 goal top scorer Glenn Poole is, like Gary Hooper, a former Grays player while ex-Bull Alan Connell has 12.

The Bulls will see Hooper in action for the last time this season, and the Bulls will hope for three points with the assistance from the man with ten goals from just eighteen games. While Shergar exploded on the Edgar Street pitch, Hooper did it cool and quiet in becoming the third player to enter double figures for League goals this season. Last season no-one managed double figures, with Connell scoring nine.

Brentford vs Hereford United, Griffin Park, Saturday April 26th, 3.00pm.
