Exeter Release Takings Figures

Furthering their openness on finances at St James Park, Exeter City have released figures on the takings at home games in recent weeks.

Their bumper derby clash with Torquay, watched by 7,839, saw over £72,000 taken on the gate, excluding pre-sales and season tickets, while the match with Kidderminster, watched by just under half the Torquay gate, took just £21,000 with a large proportion of the gate season ticket holders.

Catering figures also show an average spend of around £3,000 a game on average gates around the 3,500 mark, but exclude sales from one catering bar run by supporters. Programme sales suggest that around one in five attendees bought a programme, compared to a one in four figure for the Bulls.

The catering figures suggest that, on similar gates, the Bulls could boost turnover - and therefore their playing budget under wage capping rules - by £70,000 by bringing catering 'in-house' than continuing with the unpopular franchise given to Lindley Catering.
