Cherries Need Funds To Finish Season

Bournemouth need a £50,000 cash injection to finish the current season, according to Administrator Gerald Krasner.

The Cherries were due to be funded until the end of the season by a £350,000 injection by the proposed consortium headed by former Chairman Jeff Mostyn - but it failed at the last minute leaving £50,000 unpaid and no further idea where the money will come from.

Krasner will meet the club's creditors on Monday with no definite future for the club beyond then. No other bidders have made an offer and, unless Mostyn finds another backer, the Cherries could be out of business before next week's home match against Bristol Rovers.

Krasner admitted his latest press release was an open plea for money to prop the ailing club up, with sales of any player likely - and the closure of the club not off the agenda.
