News Round Up

New Shrewsbury boss Paul Simpson has blamed former boss Gary Peters for the club's plight with his youth policy, already criticised by Graham Turner, leaving the side inexperienced. Simpson admitted to BBC Radio Shropshire that they were wary of slipping into the relegation battle.

Grimsby have sold 18,000 tickets for their trip to Wembley in the JPT final. MK Dons sold out their 26,000 allocation last week and are waiting on more tickets. The Dons home match with Peterboro on Friday is all ticket with away tickets already sold out. Chester have appointed club captain Paul Butler as Simon Davies' assistant for the rest of the season. The veteran defender is currently injured.

Mansfield will make an appointment of manager in the next 48 hours, with a string of players coming out in favour of current caretaker Paul Holland. Rotherham could get a 15 point penalty for entering Administration after it was revealed Football League rules penalise further if the same Director is involved in Administration issues twice. Chairman Denis Coleman was involved in their last scrape two years ago.

Peterboro defender Dean Morgan has been called into the Welsh squad for their match with Luxembourg. He will miss their Easter Monday match with Chester. Stockport have had Ashley Williams called into the squad, but there is still no place for ex-Bull Paul Parry. Ex-Bull Steve Bull was frank to the press about his new Stafford side after they lost of Oxford: "We're just not good enough. We can't play, can't pass and you just can't keep conceding early."

Grays have found a backer to pay the £14,000 owed to jailed player Ashley Sestanovich after the club refused to pay the sum on principle. Bury have released midfielder Sami Mawene after a failed trial, with the player rejoining Stafford.
