News Round Up

Mansfield's takeover has failed for a second time, with another financial backer walking away as the deal was about to be signed. This time Chairman James Derry's consortium has an Australian group to blame for the failure, with Derry now opening talks with two parties identified earlier in the week as potential bidders. The sale price of the club has been revealed as £1, with owner Keith Haslam retaining the ground with a four year option to purchase.

Notts County are to release twin brothers Matt and Rob Austin at the end of the season. The former youth team pair have failed to make an impression on the first team since signing pro contracts last summer. Brentford have opted to end the loans of Rob Milsom from Fulham and Craig Stone from Gillingham, with injured players coming back to fitness.

Stockport have extended the contract of Anthony Pilkington until the summer of 2010. The 19 year old lanky striker has scored 11 times in 45 games since progressing from the youth side.
