Morecambe manager Sammy McIlroy has turned down an offer to manage Shrewsbury and pledged his future to the Shrimps.
McIlroy had a meeting with Shrimps chairman Peter McGuigan over the weekend.
"We set up a meeting to discuss a few things and it was really positive. We put in a blueprint for the future," McIlroy told the club's website.
"It's been a distraction for us at a time when we are having a blip."
Shrimps chairman Peter McGuigan said: "We had a good, open discussion about where we want to go and we are all hoping that we can now put this distraction aside and continue to develop the club together over the next couple of years."
