Lambert not giving up on Automatic Promotion

Wycombe manager Paul Lambert isn't giving up on automatic promotion despite losing by an unfortunate own goal to Hereford this afternoon.

"Until somebody tells me it's mathematically impossible I won't give up on automatic promotion, especially not with the way we played today," Lambert told the Wycombe Official Website.

Lambert spoke about the own goal scored by Russell Martin.

"You can't legislate for that, it doesn't really matter if he got a shout or not he should have done better, he knows that himself.

"Russ has been great for us all season though and he will bounce back, I'm sure of that."

Team-mate Gary Holt also commented:

"Russ will probably never head a ball like that again, which is unfortunate," he said.

"There's nothing you can say to him in the dressing room now, you just have to give him a pat on the back and leave him be. This week the spirit in the camp will be top class, have no doubt about that, everyone will come together."
