Speaking to the Shrewsbury website after the game, Gary Peters felt his side had the better of the game but lacked a cutting edge:
"I thought we passed the ball a lot better and competed well but didn't quite have the quality they had in front of goal. They've got 7 players on loan from the Championship or Premier League so who were we playing, Hereford United or a team amalgamated of players from the Premier League.
"Sherjill MacDonald was the difference, he is absolute quality and the fella is brilliant, he's going to play for West Brom and he'll go on to play for Holland. They have a lot of players on loan but none will stay, that's not building for the clubs future but they are getting success with it at the moment.
"Glyn Garner made couple of great stops before their second goal went in, but again it came from that bit of magic and quality from MacDonald that opened it up."
