Bournemouth Edge Towards Administration

Bournemouth are edging closer to Administration after the Inland Revenue issued a winding up petition against the club.

The petition is due to be heard on March 12th, with the club now likely to enter Administration before that date as they struggle to find new investment. The Cherries have won three of their last four matches since they initially applied to appoint an Administrator, but entering Administration will see the good work undone with a ten point penalty applied.

Even manager Kevin Bond and father John, the former Man City and Norwich boss, were rumoured to be ready to buy the club but that was swiftly denied: "Neither have we got the funds or the inclination to get involved in taking a football club on."

Update: A statement issued by Bournemouth states they are to ask the Inland Revenue to withdraw the petition as they have issues notices of intent to appoint an Administrator.
