Hereford United manager, Graham Turner, gave praise to his captain Ben Smith after the midfielder scored the third goal yesterday against Lincoln City.
"I always felt we needed that third one to kill them off totally and I was thankful to see that one go in," Turner told the post match press conference as reported by the Official Website.
"He's showing a lot of energy and I think his goal capped three or four matches when he has played well."
Turner admitted that circumstances in the game went in the favour of the Bulls with the penalty and the sending off early in the game.
"Then we got right sloppy and for ten or fifteen minutes we forgot to pass the ball and we forgot to defend properly.
"But overall I thought, just in patches, there was some excellent play."
Asked about the sending off, Turner said he hadn't seen it from his position.
"I know the linesman put his flag straight up and his flag across his chest but I couldn't see whether it was a sending off or not."
