Luton Losing £500,000 A Month

League One strugglers Luton Town are losing £500,000 a month, according to Chairman David Pinkney.

In a lengthy article in the Daily Mail, Pinkney accuses the FA of allowing the situation to get out of control - and of concealing the true nature of the club's finances from him when he took over the club seven months ago.

He accuses the FA of knowing about the dodgy payments the club, and several directors, have been charged with 18 months ago following an audit of the club, and failing to inform Pinkney of the missing money that is claimed to run into millions. Even Club Secretary Cherry Newbury went to the FA with a dossier of evidence, which she claims was ignored.

Pinkney also claims that one of the charges, against an un-named director, is false as the person was not a director of the club at the date specified in the charge. He also confirms that Administration was sought by the club after former manager Mike Newell brought action for wrongful dismissal - to the tune of £3.3million.
