News Round Up

Chester have lost the services of assistant boss Malcolm Thomson after he chose to return to Scotland for personal reasons. Boss Bobby Williamson is expected to turn to Gerry McCabe, his former assistant at Kilmarnock, while Thomson is expected to take a similar position at Inverness.

MK Dons have signed veteran defender Matt Carbon on an initial two month deal. The 32 year old former West Brom and Derby man has been playing in New Zealand since leaving Barnsley in the summer of 2006. Morecambe will be on the lookout for a new keeper after Norwich decided to recall Joe Lewis at the end of the year. Lewis has played in all but a handful of games this season after arriving on loan in August.

Mansfield owner Keith Haslam has resigned as Chief Executive of the club, ending his day to day involvement with the club. Haslam has appointed a Chartered Accountant as his replacement, with the brief to organise the business and sell the club. Chairman James Derry has decided to stay on despite his bid for the club faltering.
