The squad for the next Olyroos game on Saturday is expected to be made known tomorrow.
Hereford United's Trent McClenahan is likely to be included but his manager Graham Turner will be disappointed if McClenahan is left on the bench as he was for their last game. No doubt he would prefer McClenahan back at Edgar Street.
Whilst it was known well in advance that McClenahan could miss a couple of games in mid-November because of international call-up, few could have predicted that both Dean Beckwith and captain Karl Broadhurst would both be out for several weeks with injuries. In effect Turner will be without three defenders for both the Stockport game on Saturday, the FA Cup replay at Leeds on Tuesday, and possibly the Accrington game on November 24th.
The two games McClenahan may be in the squad for are firstly against Iran this coming Saturday and then against North Korea on November 21st. This game will be played in Qatar.
