The Bulls' disappointing gate against Mansfield was not the only poor gate of the evening.
While the Bulls saw their support drop by nearly 1500 for their second of three home games in six days, Macclesfield nearly halved their previous attendance to 1378 for tonight's win over Brentford.
Darlington posted their lowest ever attendance at the TFM Arena, 2628, for their win over Shrewsbury. Their previous match saw another 1600 on the gate. Even leaders MK Dons saw 1600 drop off their gate, and it nearly halving over two games, as under 7000 watched their match with Grimsby compared to 13,000 against Lincoln three weeks ago.
It was another night of Champions League football for free on terrestrial TV and, again, it cost the League Two sides dear as the Football League decided it would be a good day to schedule a full list of games, rather than utilise the free midweek prior to the European fixtures.
