Stockport manager Jim Gannon wants a reversal in fortunes at Edgeley Park tomorrow.
The Hatters have lost their last three home League games, and could only draw with lowly Staines in the FA Cup on home turf, but they have beaten both MK Dons and Carlisle during their last three away outings leaving Gannon puzzled:
"It's a difficult one to work out," said Gannon to the Manchester Evening News: "It could be tactically that we're able to go away from home and perhaps be a bit more defensive-minded and play different systems to get results. We did that at MK Dons, maybe not so much at Rochdale where we were able to defend deep and counter -attack, and at Carlisle where we came with a game plan. But it's difficult to do that at home when the onus is on you to take the game to the opposition, which perhaps we're not always good at.
"The expectations of the fans are high and they haven't been enjoying the football they've been watching and the results they've seen. I just hope they get behind us and show the same vociferous support we got at Carlisle. Getting behind the team and giving the players confidence will mean they'll go out and produce. They will certainly always put in the effort.
"It's a big game against one of the leaders and it's a chance to build on what we did at Carlisle. The most frustrating thing for me these last six or seven weeks is that I know there's much more there. We saw the finishing we know is there at Carlisle"
The paper identifies Trevor Benjamin as the star player, and predicts the result as a 1-1 draw.
