Forest Green Rovers have put a £250,000 price tag on former Hereford United striker Stuart Fleetwood. However it looks as though that valuation may stall any transfer in the approaching window.
"We want to keep him - there's no doubt about it. I have told people I want £250,000 and I stick to that. If they don't want to match that, they shouldn't talk to me, said Rovers chairman Colin Gardner as reported by the Western Daily Press.
"I am aware that a written offer is coming from Cheltenham and it is a six-figure sum but it does not meet the asking price.
"We are a very friendly club and we work as a team and we want to make sure we are doing everything right for the player and the club. We are mindful that Stuart is enjoying his football here.
"Stuart has been at a Football League club before and never made it, so it is credit to the work (manager) Jim Harvey has done with him.
"There is no way he is going on loan. With regards to everything else, when an offer comes in I will put it to the board but I'm sure their view will reflect that of mine."
