Farmer Bates may fear a Field of Bulls

For a first round FA Cup-tie it doesn't get much better. Leeds United, a team whose rightful home is probably in the Premiership, coming to Edgar Street. If this tie doesn't wet the appetite of the supporters what will?

It's the Tie of the Round and so there has to be a reasonable chance it could be broadcast by either Sky or the BBC.

The League One side, whose chairman Ken Bates used to be a farmer, defeated Arsenal in the 1972 Cup Final - the very same year that the Bulls made football history when they beat Newcastle United in the Cup.

The game will be the first time ever the two teams have met.

All the details for the tie will be announced next week, but it is likely to be all ticket as Edgar Street's capacity is now under 8,000. Season ticker holders are expected to be given first chance to secure their seats.

Whether Hereford United will put the prices up for this game remains to be seen, but the club has the chance to make some money from this tie which is needs especially after manager Graham Turner revealed that his players wage costs had risen this season.
