Graham Turner spoke to the press after the Cheltenham game in which two players were badly injured.
"There were thoughts of calling the game off as one or two of the players were upset by looking at the lad's (Wylde's) face, the blood and the swelling, but we got through it OK.
"In the first half we looked solid at the back and we created one or two chances and it was a good workout.
"Trevor (Benjamin) showed his strength when he finished that one off and for Steve, who has missed one or two chances recently, it was nice to see one go in.
"We needed to introduce some more experienced players and we have done that with the arrival of Karl Broadhurst, Clint Easton, Steve Guinan and Trevor Benjamin."
Turner commented on two players, Steve Guinan and Karl Broadhurst.
"Steve has been very conscientious about his fitness and I expect him to give us two good years.
"He (Broadhurst) is a player with plenty of scope to improve and certainly has the stature you need to succeed at this level."
Meanwhile Midfielder Clint Easton has spoken to the Western Daily Press about his move to Edgar Street.
"I didn't really know much about the club, but once I had spoken to the manager and heard his ideas I wanted to be part of it.
"He is going in the right direction and I want to play the league above or even the Championship, and if that's with Hereford then it will be great."
