News Round Up

Chester have released striker Lee Steele after coming to terms over the remaining 12 months of his contract. The move has allowed the club to sign former Oldham midfielder Mark Hughes on a two year deal. Steele is the fourth person to be paid up by the club this summer.

Darlington are to retain the services of striker Julian Joachim after chairman George Houghton told the local press that family issues that saw Joachim want to leave the club had been resolved. Ex-Bull Andy Tretton has failed to secure a contract at AFC Telford after a trial.

Crawley have been hit with a six point penalty by Conference officials for bringing the league into disrepute. The club breached several deadlines for paying their CVA, finally settling the outstanding balance three days ago after several months of delays. The club have received 19 points in fines since controversial owners the Majeed brothers took control of the club.
